Hello all fans of Our project. Symphonic Theater of Dreams finished first stage of preparations.
We have collected all the members needed to start really thinking about STOD and realization.
Our crew:
Michal Mierzejewski - creator, composer, conductor
Sinfonietta Consonus - orchestra
Marc Papeghin - french horn (special guest)
Stephen van Baalen - graphic designer
Radoslaw Mroczek - film director
Kinga Geldon - photographer

We are thinking about search more special guests (musicians) and more members. We need a sponsors too.

Donators names and surnames will be included in CD book.

Plans
In few weeks, Michal Mierzejewski will start working on scores. When I will finish one song (example Sacraficed Sons), We are going to record audio material in Poland. After that, Marc Papeghin is receiving file, and He is recording horns parts in his studio.
Mix, mastering etc … If We will have full material, We will try to distribute this project.

Stephen van Baalen is still working on website. We are planning to create a nice official website for STOD. Some days ago He created a new artwork for every track from tracklist. It is amazing and beautiful work. All materials will be free for download in future.

Radoslaw Mroczek and Kinga Geldon will be creating video and photo materials from Our progress in the work.

Symphonic Theater Of Dreams is a tribute to Dream Theater.
A band highly claimed in the progressive metal scene for more than 2 decades and with a huge following all across the globe. Michal Mierzejewski a dedicated Dream Theater fan had this idea last summer (2010) that he wanted to compose Dream Theater songs in 'classical' environment that had never been done before.

Ofcourse we all know Dream Theater performed a one of live show at the famous Radio City Music Hall in New York back in 2006 with an full live orchestra, but this is something else...

Also last year Michal posted a short teaser on Youtube and posted it on all Dream Theater related forums (with short snipits of "The Count of Tuscany" and "The Best of Times").
This caught Mike Portnoy's (former member of the band) eye immediately and he was very plesantly surprised by this. Quote: ''This looks like it's gonna be an EPIC symphonic tribute to DT''. Micheal was very honered by this.

All the fans around the world where very excited by this short clip and the reactions were beyond michael's expectation. There was no turning back now, Michal had to go through with this project. So in the months to come he contacted other people who wanted to be part of this special project.

One of them most of you DT hardcore fans all know, Stephen van Baalen from Holland (aka SteveTheater / http://www.steve-art.net). He is known for numerous unofficial DT art which he posted on many DT related forums over the last 2 years. (and still does) He also won a big competion on Mike Portnoy's forum 2 years ago. A contest to come up with a new look for the site and Steve won this hands down.

Michal contacted Steve and said if he was intrested in to make artwork for STOD. But with a zero budget the odds where slim. His first reacton was "Now with my own business going skyrocket these last few months I can't make artwork anymore without getting paid for my work''. But for Michal he made an exception,''Michal, it would be an honour to be part of this project, I will make all artwork and a website for free, concider it done!''

Later on Michal also posted a contest on the forums where the fans could choose what songs they wanted to hear on the up and coming CD. Now almost a year later here we are... the website is finished, nearly all the artwork is done and we all wait what Micheal has in store for us...

The wait is almost over...

אני במעורפל זוכר שהיה את lifting shadows ואת space dye vest, אבל לא הצלחתי למצוא את זה בשום מקום. יש למישהו מושג על מה אני מדבר ואיפה מוצאים את זה?

Working on Symphonic Theater of Dreams score - Losing Time/Grand Finale
Please, read this description.
I would like to present “how looks” work on SToD from the composition, production and arrangement side.
This process does not always look like I wrote in this description. This is just an example.
I hope you enjoy the material and it will answer a few questions.
Part I
[0:01] Writing melody in Violin I with accompaniment Violas, adding cellos and contrabasses. Adding Violin II section, to complement the harmony.
[00:19] Writing woodwings section. Flutes, Oboes , Clarinets, Bassons
[00:41] Woodwinds (tutti)
[01:03] Creating brass section. Trombones and Horns
Part II
[01:23] Creating woodwinds ”transformation” - more extensive, virtuoso.
Other instruments – volume down (Horns, Violin I, Violas, Cellos and Cotrabass).
Part III
[01:49] The whole piece (Part I + Part II) - tutti (full orchestra) with added percussion instruments with continued part of the track, but without the melody.
Summary:
Fragment (based on Part III) contains 34 bars in 23 systems, which gives 782 bars across the score (11 sheets A3).
The first bar contains 42 notes of different values, 31 dynamic, 35 articulation symbols.
If we would like to make this fragment sounded the best on live concert, we would need min. 35 musicians. More musicians = better sound (not in every situation, but in our orchestra and project, yes ).
Please imagine now. Losing Time is an epic ballad.
Important question for you. What statistics, informations I would post about The Dance of Eternity?
I hope you enjoy the material and understand us. We want to give you the best symphonic masterpiece, and now you can see a teaser how long it takes, how many people need to work on our project and how expensive is our “child”.
