להקת הניאו-פרוג המצליחה הבריטית הודיעה ששם אלבומה החדש הוא Frequency והוא ייצא בתחילת 2009, וילווה במסע הופעות באירופה! זהו האלבום הראשון ללא מרטין אורפורד, קלידנה האגדי.

יוווו חדשות מעולות , אבל העובדה שאורפורד לא הולך להיות בה די מאכזבת . האלבום האחרון באמת שעשה לי משהו מדהים שהרבה אלבומים לא עשו לי . אחד האלבומים הכי טובים (אם לא הכי טוב ) ל-2007 בשבילי .

את Subterranean שמעתי אבל לא נדהמתי . אין בו את האופל , את הדרמה ואת המלודיה המדהימה כמו ב Dark Matter .

את The Wake השגתי אבל לצערי הרב יש לי אותו באיכות ממש מהתחת .

יש ב-Subterranea דווקא די הרבה דרמה ומלודיות מצוינות , זה אלבום קונספט ממש טוב, תקשיב לו שוב ואני בטוח שדעתך תשתנה.

DVD חדש ללהקת Pendragon:

The legendary neo-prog rock band Pendragon for once more visited the Wyspiański Theater in Katowice, Poland, this time to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary. With their outstanding performance, possibly one of the best the Polish audience had ever had a chance to witness, and with their line-up strengthened by the addition of a new drummer Scott Higham (also known from his past cooperation with Clive Nolan on the project Caamora), the band surely proved that they’re still a formidable force on the prog-rock scene!

Pendragon’s forthcoming DVD entitled “Concerto Maximo” will feature 150 minutes of the band’s performance recorded on the 13th October 2008 in Wyspiańki Theatre, an exclusive bonus video featuring interviews with the band members and behind the scenes footage, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, photo gallery and more! “Concerto Maximo” DVD will be also available in two other formats: limited edition DVD+2CD and 2 CD digipak (limited to 1000 copies).

Metal Mind Productions set the release date for 23rd February 2009 in Europe and 10th March 2009 in USA (via MVD).

מה קורה טל ? למה שילבת אשכול עם שתיהן ?

כי גם ככה אין היענות גדולה לאשכול IQ ומדובר בשתי להקות קטנות, אז שילבתי ביניהם במקום לפתוח סתם אשכול שיירד מהר לעמודים האחרונים ואחרי זה נצטרך לחפש אותו כשתהיה ידיעה מעניינת שנרצה להוסיף.

כמה שאהבתי את Dark Matter (ואהבתי מאוד), ככה לא התלהבתי משאר האלבומים שלהם.
אבל DM באמת יצירת מופת.

אם אהבת את Dark Matter , אז תשמע את החדש של Pendragon (שם האלבום: Pure), הוא באותה רמה ואיכות.

לגבי האלבומים הקודמים של IQ, לא כולם איכותיים, אבל עדיין The Wake ו- Subterranea הם אלבומי מופת של הניאו-פרוג.

Nick Barrett comments: “So 2008 was the 30th Anniversary of Pendragon....they said we wouldn't make it....they were wrong! Not only have we made it but it seems we have made a most relevant and very well received album this year, “Pure”. The tour that this DVD is from is another show from the Teatr Slaski in Katowice Poland, which was part of a 30 date European jaunt to promote the new Pure album. Even though there are only 3 songs from the “Pure” album on the DVD which is about 20 minutes of material .....yes we did want to play “Indigo” as well, but with new drummer Scott and 4 hours of material to learn for our Megadaze [UK convention] and Peel To The Power of 2 shows, we never had enough time to rehearse it. However we did want to film and record material that hadn't appeared on the other DVDs, but when we tried the proposed set list for the DVD in Bielsko, it didn't quite gel together and we felt missed a few classics, so we decided to make this a really huge 3 hour DVD, and add some of the crowd favourites as well, like “Spell” and “Masters”, besides you have never heard these songs with Scotty on......I don't think you're going to be disappointed!”

אני צריך לראות את Eraserhead בהופעה , זה לדעתי השיר הכי טוב באלבום . למרות שהאלבום הזה זכה להרבה תשואות שמעתי אותו די הרבה פעמים . זה אלבום שבהחלט ראוי לשבחים אבל הוא לא ממש גרם לי לקפוץ לעננים ..

האלבום של IQ ייצא באפריל:
We are pleased to announce that the new album, Frequency, is almost ready for release. Final mixing will take place on February 21st and 22nd by Mike Holmes at Aubitt Studios.
This means we can schedule a release for April which may mean that the disc will be on sale for the first time at the newly announced shows. With a bit of luck we may be able to ship out copies before that time. Pre-Ordering will begin shortly via the upcoming IQ Online Store.

אוקיי ! מעניין לדעת איך הוא יישמע בלי מרטין אורפורד . שאגב הוציא דיסק שמשמיעה ראשונה נשמע ממש חמוד . שמעת משהו מהאלבום שלו ?

אני צריך לראות את Eraserhead בהופעה , זה לדעתי השיר הכי טוב באלבום . למרות שהאלבום הזה זכה להרבה תשואות שמעתי אותו די הרבה פעמים . זה אלבום שבהחלט ראוי לשבחים אבל הוא לא ממש גרם לי לקפוץ לעננים ..

גיליתי היום ש-Pendragon מופיעים ביום ראשון הקרוב בקינגסטון , דרומית ללונדון, ויש סיכוי טוב שאני אלך להופעה שלהם ,גם כי אני מאד אוהב את האלבום החדש וגם כי זאת לא להקה שעושה טורים ארוכים. אם אלך, מבטיח לעשות סקירה ולהביא תמונות.
